The Soft Expressive Policy
Mission Statement and Community Guidelines
The Soft Expressive is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all who identify as women and are diagnosed or self-identify as Autistic or ADHD or both. This community encourages creativity, expression, and self-connection through discussions on community-chosen topics, including specific issues relevant to Autistic and ADHD women
Community Guidelines
1. Inclusivity
The Soft Expressive welcomes all individuals who identify as women. We recognise the diversity of experiences and challenges our members may face, including hormonal changes and menstrual cycles. Discussions and content may occasionally focus on these topics to foster understanding and support
2. Nature of the Group
It is important to note that The Soft Expressive is not a therapy group. While we provide support and a platform for expression, our activities and discussions are not substitutes for professional mental health treatment. Our focus is on fostering creativity, coaching around autistic and ADHD topics within an art-making setting and connection within a community setting, whether online or during in-person events
3. Respect for Privacy
- Contact Outside the Group: Members should not contact other members outside of the group without explicit consent. Always ask for permission during group meetings before reaching out privately
- Personal Information: Do not take or share any personal contact information (phone numbers, emails, etc.) from group activities or directories without obtaining informed consent directly from the individual in a face-to-face interaction
- Physical Boundaries: At in-person events, respect personal boundaries. Do not follow anyone home or to another location unless explicitly invited. Do not engage in any inappropriate and sexual behaviour towards other people whether verbal or physical or touch anyone in the swimming costume area
4. Safe Space for Discussion
We encourage open discussions about experiences related to being Autistic or having ADHD, particularly as they relate to women's issues. Members are urged to share and explore their experiences in a respectful and supportive environment that promotes understanding and community support.
5. Consent and Communication
Informed consent is crucial in all interactions within The Soft Expressive. This includes but is not limited to, sharing information, physical interactions, and any form of communication outside the group setting. Ensure all parties are clear and agreeable to any form of engagement
Enforcement of Guidelines
Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in removal from the group to protect the welfare of all members. We reserve the right to refuse entry. We are committed to maintaining a respectful and supportive environment and expect all members to honour these principles. If you or anyone else is affected by any conduct that contravenes these policies and community guidelines please contact support@thesoftexpressive.co.uk - we ask for your understanding that we are AuDHD as a team too, and therefore will endeavour to reply within 14 days
